Little facts about the kidney an average individual must know... 
  1. Humans, mammals have two kidneys.
  2. The two kidneys are vital parts of the body. The two kidneys are functional, when one of the kidney is damaged, the other kidney functions actively .              NOTE                                                            A person who has one kidney left is not expected to stress his/herself.
  3. Do you know that the Adrenal gland lies at the top of each kidney?
  4. The kidney regulates the acid-base rate in the body.
  5. The diseases of the kidney;
Kidney stones - This is a condition in which tiny solids like calcium phosphate is present in the urine therefore leading to blocked kidney tubules.
Oedema -It is a condition in which the kidney tubules are unable to absorb water from the blood therefore making some parts of the body swollen [ e.g , the feet].
       There are other diseases of the kidney.
